Leafy Luxury: 7 Cozy cabins with Perfect Fall Vibes

Picture this: you’re wearing your favorite wool sweater by a crackling fire watching the rain fall gently outside your cozy log cabin rental. Trails lead from the door through autumnal trees and there’s a hot tub on the deck to soak in and watch the stars. Well, it’s time to stop daydreaming and pack your flannel shirts and rain boots! We’ve scouted 7 of the coziest cabin rentals for fall, from snowy Colorado to leafy Vermont.

Adirondack Lodge in the Catskills, New York

Bonner Lodge was formerly a Girl Scout camp lodge but don’t let that put you off. The 2,500 square foot home was completely renovated by a New York-based designer and architect and now features open living areas, stone fireplace, warm textiles and vintage decor. Close by are the towns of Catskill and Woodstock (yes the Woodstock) with farmers markets, restaurants, antique shops, events and historic downtown areas. The Catskills area is famous for its autumn colors and fun festivals, and this is the perfect fall cabin to enjoy with the whole family.

A Treehouse in Vermont

Is it even possible to think of Vermont without picturing autumn colors, leaves rustling and dare I say it- the smell of pumpkin spice? Vermont is a fall-lover’s dream, with miles of forest that changes to kaleidoscopic reds, yellows and oranges from September through to November. You’ll find cute towns that could be mistaken for the Gilmore Girls set, and even cuter fall cabins. Take Meadow Moose Lodge and Treehouse set in 86 acres of secluded forest in the Green Mountains. As well as 4 cozy rooms in the luxury log cabin you can also stay in your very own treehouse. Built between two mature pine trees and overlooking the property’s pond, it is built from cedar, pine, maple and hemlock and has 31 windows to stare at fall trees to your heart's content.

Hot tub in the Forest Breckenridge, Colorado

Colorado is not short of cute mountain cabin rentals. Highpoint Hideaway has the best of both worlds- just a short trail to Breckenridge town but nicely secluded in the forest. A 1970’s mountain A-frame, the original heating stove is still in the house for that rustic feel but it’s been updated to luxury with heating units, quartz countertops and super comfortable beds. Hiking trails lead from the cabin so you can be in an autumn wonderland as soon as you step outside. Save the location for winter too- it’s only 10 minutes from the ski lifts.

Original Forest A-Frame in Washington

This A-frame forest escape was handbuilt in 1978 and surrounded by the towering Douglas Firs of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. It's part of the Tye River Cabin company, regularly featured on the cabinporn instagram account. The highly photogenic A-frames are not just good to look at, they are kitted out with all the luxuries you need- from Netflix to a hot tub on the deck. There are hundreds of hiking trails in the surrounding mountains and even a Bavarian themed mountain town nearby to fully embrace the fall cabin trip of your dreams.

Secluded mountain top cabin in Arkansas

The name of the Enchanted Forest Resort gives some clue to the type of autumn cabin vibes you’ll find at this tranquil resort tucked away in the Ozark Mountains. Choose from eight cabins dotted through the forest, most with outdoor hot tubs under the trees. Not many fall cabin rentals come with their own cave but that is exactly what you’ll find if you follow the forest hiking trail. Used as a claymine by Eureka Springs settlers in the 1800s the cave winds into the mountain and you can follow it for as long as you’re feeling brave.

Authentic Western Log Cabin, Wyoming

If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a pioneer (with a few more creature comforts) this cabin in the hills of Jackson, Wyoming is the perfect cabin rental for fall. Log walls, oak floors and rustic wooden furniture give the cozy feeling whilst skylights, flat screen TVs and top flight appliances bring the modern luxury. There’s even a moose antler chandelier!

Endless forests in Maine

From the windows of this cozy cabin rental the forest stretches as far as the eye can see, meaning a full leafy spectacle will await you in fall. An artistically designed wooden cabin in 75 acres of private woodland, the cabin is warm and welcoming with a cozy queen bed, huge windows and balconies to sip coffee and enjoy the view. The show doesn’t end when the sun goes down, with hardly any light pollution the views of the stars are just as impressive as the autumn trees.

Long Story Short...

Forget about summer, the best season of the year is here. As the crisp fall air beckons, it's time to turn your cabin rental daydreams into reality. Whether you’re soaking in a hot tub under the stars, exploring winding trails through colorful foliage, or unwinding by the fire with a good book, these are just a few of the best places to enjoy the fall magic.
