5 legit ways to skip airport lines

So you’re running late for your flight (Is that just us?) and that lineup is looking brutal! You can always beg your way to the front of the line if you have less than 30 mins until takeoff, or pretend to be pregnant (don’t try this).

1. TSA PRE-CHECK

This is by far the easiest way to skip the airport security lines - TSA Precheck

By having  TSA Precheck, you will only wait for about five minutes or less in line at over 200 U.S. airports!

TSA Precheck is for domestic travel only, and you get to pass through the expedited security lines too. As if that was not good enough - you also won’t have to remove these items:

  • Laptops
  • Shoes
  • Liquids
  • Light jackets
  • Belts

TSA Precheck Cost? TSA Precheck costs $85 every five years.

2. Global Entry

Global Entry enables you to skip the oh-so-dreadful security lines for U.S. Customs when you re-enter the country. You will also be able to walk through the TSA Precheck security lines when you depart from domestic airports.

Because it’s Global -  you will also enjoy expedited access to passing through customs for other certain countries that too.

Global Entry Cost? $100 every five years

3. CLEAR (US Only)

A  CLEAR membership will provide you an exclusive security line before the TSA Precheck and non-TSA Precheck lines. When you arrive at the end of the CLEAR security line, you get to enter the TSA security checkpoint before those standing in the TSA security line, even if they have TSA Precheck!

Some sporting events and concerts are even beginning to utilize CLEAR!

CLEAR Cost? $179 for the year or $15 a month--your choice!--and children under the age of 18 are free.

4. TripIt

With TripIt you can monitor security wait times with your smartphone!

TripIt monitors airport security wait times so you can plan how soon you need to leave for the airport. The app also tracks your flight status in real-time so you can share with whoever is picking you up from the airport.

5. The Private Suite (Los Angeles Only)

The Private Suite is a private terminal — a new gate into LAX. People who use the Private Suite are wanting to avoid crowds, line, and public bathrooms! The TSA screening is done right in the building and they don’t deal with baggage. People who use the Private Suite spend their pre-flight time in totally private suites, each with its own bathroom, its own food-service pantry, a two-person daybed, and a runway view of aircraft landing and taking off. The cherry on top? Members are driven across the tarmac directly to their aircraft - talk about luxury!

Annual Membership Fee: $4,500

We hope these help you out next time you travel!
